(Nashville, Tennessee) – December 10, 2009 --Sarah’s Choice (Pure Flix Entertainment) is more than a showcase film for Grammy winning Christian singer Rebecca St. James to make her debut as a lead actress in a movie with a strong pro life message. It’s proving to be a heartwarming addition to the film fare this Christmas season.
Noted film critic, Greg Wright, in his November 24th review at the popular online review site, Past The Popcorn: “Sarah’s Choice’ does not play like a generic flick—in fact when the film concluded, I told my wife, ‘This is a movie I think I could look forward to seeing every holiday season.’ A Christmas classic about abortion? Well, yes!”
CBN.org movie critic, Beth Patch in her online review for the CBN site: “Sarah’s Choice carries a clear pro life message. The film also includes the message of redemption and forgiveness…the value of including this element cannot be understated.”
But most heartwarming to Rebecca is the news that recently reached her that one young woman who viewed “Sarah’s Choice” has already opted for the decision of ‘life’ for her unborn baby.
“We’ve prayed that the film will touch hearts and be used as a real tool for ministry to encourage the choice of ‘life’ for those facing the very realities that the film portrays,” noted St. James in a recent interview. “That was my intent and the intent of everyone involved in the making of this movie.”
By special arrangement with Care Net, and their broad alliance of 1,180 North American Care Net pregnancy centers, special local market viewing events of “Sarah’s Choice” are being encouraged to ultimately reach those most in need of the film’s message. A study guide has also been prepared by Pure Flix to correspond with the movie as a ministry assist tool. Noted Kristin Hansen, Vice-President of Communications for Care Net: “We are encouraging screenings of ‘Sarah’s Choice’ in conjunction with the January Roe v. Wade anniversary, which falls on Friday, January 22nd, and the corresponding ‘Sanctity of Human Life Sunday,’ January 24th."
Rebecca is adding her personal voice and presence to many of the screenings with a special series of co-ordinated concert/film events being set throughout 2010.
Also scheduled is continued national support media. Her recent guest appearance on Fox & Friends Weekend, hit mainstream audiences with news on the film. Appearances on Daystar TV’s ‘Celebration,’ and ‘Joni,’ a radio guesting on Moody Radio in Chicago, Janet Parshall’s America, and other major radio broadcasts have also taken the message wider on the national level.
In January, St. James will be in New York for a guest appearance on Fox News Network's Hannity, with more scheduled media appearances on CBN’s “700 Club,” and Focus On the Family also planned.
